Counter-Narratives and Identity: Exploring Resistance in Arab American Literature

Abstract
In order to develop a more complex understanding of Arab identity, belonging, and displacement, this study investigates the function of counter-narratives in Arab diasporic literature. Specifically, it looks at how these narratives function as a kind of resistance against dominant Western discourses. This research highlights the literature's role to overcoming stereotypes, colonial narratives, and the reductive depiction of Arab realities via a detailed examination of influential works by Arab diasporic writers.
